What to Expect
The day will begin at 8:30, departing from Paris.
After a one and a half-hour drive by luxury chauffeured car, you will arrive in Hautvillers, the birthplace of champagne.
There, a guide will be waiting for you to visit this extremely beautiful village, overlooking the majestic Marne valley, and a sea of vineyards.
The Benedictine abbey, Saint Pierre d’Hautvillers, was erected during the Middle Ages, at the behest of Archbishop Saint Nivard, who was then in charge of Reims’ church. The story goes that a dove flying along a hillside showed him the spot where the future monastery was to be built. It is in his church that the legendary Benedictine monk, Dom Perignon, is buried.
You will then be able to continue wandering, or enjoy a private tour of the Dom Perignon estate.
You will then be served lunch in a 5* establishment, that provides an ideal panoramic view of the region. In this warming, elegant setting you will encounter refined, traditional cuisine, created using regional produce.
You will then be welcomed by a team of oenologists.
An exciting, sparkling and instructional afternoon awaits!
After a tour of the cellars, and a presentation of Champagne winemaking, you will sample a few blends in order to familiarise yourself with the different flavours, and to define the style of the wine you wish to create.
The cellar master will be on hand to assist you.
For you, it will be a unique moment when you discover your own champagne!
The day will end with a festive aperitif and petit fours.
The return to Paris is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
